4 apples of your choice (we used Fuji), peeled and sliced, seasoned separately with nutmeg, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, sugar, salt, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and then placed in the mixture batter with the other ingredients
2 cups whole milk
3 large eggs
1 cup granulated organic cane sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup walnuts (optional)
Butter, for greasing the baking dish
Confectioners’ sugar, for dusting (optional)
